11 Panzer Division's Insignia, not the 7th.
Greetings,
I cannot comment on the originality of the piece being contemporary to WWII, but the insignia shown is of the 11 Panzer Division, not the 7th.

Hi, Lance is correct.
I like it.
Never seen another, which is a good sign, as fakes tend to come in some kind of quantity.
I expect it came from Robert. He usually has good items.
Cheers, Ade.

The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Given the adoption of the tactical symbol during the war and then wartime metal use restrictions I would agree with you Paul.
I think that is the correct id.
Cheers, Ade.

Here's a large 1980s era 11 PZ DIV veteran's organization sticker for comparison.
Greetings,
Thought I'd post a comparative shot of a large veteran's sticker from the 1980s and your plaque. There are similarities and differences in the designs, either case, I thought you'd might enjoy seeing a confirmed modern image too.
Regards,
Lance
