Here is a unique art piece from famous 3 Riech artist Arno Brecker. It is huge, weighing 40 pounds and is 24 inches round (2 feet round). This plaque has great provenounce, and was recovered from the Berlin Reich Chancellery. If your familiar with the 2 bronze horses and the 2 human bronze statues at the Chancellery... this is the same artist who created them and this bronze plaque. Even better the provenance comes from Dana Durand and Peter Sichel. Both served with the US Army intelligence/CIA. Provenance covers plaque and RK plate.
Massive 40 pound, 24 inch plaque of AH found in the ruins of the Reich Chancellery at the end of 1945. The plaque was made by famous 3Reich artist Arno Breker, who was named the official state sculptor by AH and was exempted from military service. It’s thought to be the only one of its size that was made and specifically for the walls of the Chancellery upon its completion in 1939.
The plaque was found by Americans Dana Durand and Peter Sichel at the end of 1945 / start of 1946 during their visit to the bombed out RK and Fuhrer bunker. The letter that comes with it states that they dug it out of the snow and rubble and brought it home.
