Hello it is from a DAF desk ornament ,they where mounted on a bakelite base i got a complete one in my collection here , also pictures from period cataloge,

I belive this desk ornament is a rare item, i also think that the cogwheel itself has been reproduced , you se them quite often for sale from 100-200 $ ,here is two more i found here at the forum!
