Any more pictures/info' on the bowl?
Very nice indeed.
That eagle is stunning, as well as the plate, very nice!
That bowl is stunning too
How many of these bowls were made?
Any other articles/history on them my friend?
The number of these original bowls should be a couple of hundred if you assume that the numbers stamped into the bottom of these bowls began with 001. There currently are less than ten known originals, although another one recently came up for auction in Europe this past year.
Germania International re-poped them in bronze over twenty years ago and they have been known as "Bronze" Nuremberg Bowls ever since. Those bowls are almost a half inch smaller and shorter due to the the re-casting process. (Jeff Clark is currently selling one of these reproductions on his site "Uniforms of the NSDAP")
No one knows the actual use of these bowls, but they were found in NSDAP offices and German Embassies across Europe and brought home by GI's after the war.
