    KOLMAR PORCELAIN (Prussia) - ca 1940 - 1944
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chodzież

Chodzież (German: Kolmar) is a town in northwestern Poland.
In the German language, it has traditionally been known as Chodziesen, after 1879 Kolmar in Posen. East Prussia (German: Ostpreußen) This name may be falling into disuse over time, though it can still be found in current use in Germany in some cases.

That´s a very nice item, wonderful craftmanship and design! Can You tell me anything about the sword as a symbol for this factory! I will be adding all your info to my doctoral dissertation of the excavations.

The "sword" as a symbol of the factory began to apply the Germans from 1940, just after the invasion of Poland. Until that time, the factory had other mark.

Germans formed a label called "Porzellan- und Steingutfabrik in Kolmar". From 1942, the factory ceased production of Porcelain. In 1945, the retreating Germans set fire to a factory, but workers have saved buildings, machinery and equipment from fire. As a result, the factory started production already in April 1945.

I thought I would post some of our excavations finds from our dig here on a daily basis. Most of the finds are of course very common to us all here on the forum, but maybe we can discuss the odd ones. All comments are welcome.

All finds are documented and kept in a museum after the excavation. The site is protected by the law of nature reserves in Finland and the building and construction act. All unauthorized digging in the area is forbidden by law.

The archaeological excavation is part of my conflict archaeology related doctoral dissertation at Helsinki University dpt of Archaeology and the dpt of History in Helsinki Finland.

The doctoral dissertation about the German transition Camp and it´s role in "Hitlers war in the North" iis expected to be published in English in 2019.
