They were a wedding gift 28 years ago. The maker mark is the twins and
is marked Holland. I would post pictures but the marks are so worn that you
have to hold them "just so" in the light to be able to read them.
I am sure that they were NOT a top of the line set.

I'd like to see a better photo of the marks. Seem to be stamped rather than etched. And that is what you would expect (etching is slow). But it is a very clean stamp and old stamps usually collect dirt (see Greg's spoon). So I'd be a little suspicious.

If I zoom in on my picture from the site I bought it from (that picture is a bit more clear) I can see dirt sitting in the stamp.
I will send some pics of that as soon as it arrives here (next week probably).
I attached a picture that might be a bit more clear if you zoom on it.
But still might not be clear enough.

Zwilling = J.A. Henckels.
Zwilling means twins in German, hence the maker mark makes sense.

Actually, now it does look etched. That seems to be odd to me. Stamping is the quickest way to mark a set of cutlery. Would you really want to etch a 48 piece set of cutlery? Wouldn't make sense. But if you only had one spoon....This might be a good one for Fred to have a look at.
