the horse with the white stripe on his forehead should be called- BLITZEN!! and what is going on with graben a bottle as it is raised higher & higher? and the one of the horse & rider jumping 2 hurdles? that is some feat of timing! these are still great, didn't know that so many photos were taken of them?

    Hello everyone.

I wanted to add something to the excellent thread that Santi created.

Here are some photos along with unit pages from a Wehrpass and Soldbuch that belonged to Gefreiter Heinrich Homeyer who served as a farrier with several Infantry and Veterinary units in France, Russia and the Balkan states.
The last unit noted in the Wehrpass is 54. Turkestan-Tragtier-Kolonne (mule train column) of the 100th Jäger Division, active against partisans in Albania (page 33 of the Wehrpass), ‘bekämpfung der bandenkampf in Südostraum Albanien bei 100. Jag. Div.’

Units from the Wehrpass (page 12) -

    5.9.38 - 3.12.38 - 15. Ersatz Kompanie Infanterie Regeiment. 74
    28.8.39 - 26.4.40 - Kommando Infanterie Division 267
    27.4.40 - 18.4.41 - Veterinär Kompanie 267
    2.2.42 - 2.2.42 - 3./Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillion 191/1
    3.2.42 - 2.3.42 - 3./Marsch Bataillion 295/1

    12.5.43 - 11.9.43 - 3./Veterinär Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 11
    19.9.43 - 54./Turkestan Tragtier Kolonne

As for the fate of Heinrich, it looks like he is one the countless soldiers who died in captivity after the War ended.

    Wilhelm Heinrich August Homeyer
    Date of birth 23.07.1913
    Place of birth Hannover
    Death/missing date 30.10.1945
    Death/missing place Belgrad
    Service rank Gefreiter

Wilhelm Heinrich August Homeyer was not recovered during our re-interment activities. The planned transfer to the collective
cemetery in Beograd - Sammelfriedhof was, therefore, unfortunately not possible. His name will be recorded in the cemetery's memorial book.

    Kind regards,

    Will

    Dear Santi,
The thread is wonderful, and I’d like to thank you for the effort and time you spent preparing all this info for us. I’m not the first person here who can say that this is not just a thread, it’s rather a real article or book, judging by the number of pictures and information. Well done! Please continue!
