Let´s remember that in August 1940. Chief of Staff of the military commander in France (Chef des Kommandostabes beim Militärbefehlshaber Frankreich)
He stayed in the German Army during the interwar period and was promoted to lieutenant-colonel on the eve of World War II.

Well, I must admit that this soldier in the photo, with his gloves... reminded me of a character from one of my favorite World War II movies...
