    Hi guys,

Just accuired this grouping of items.

I have a fascination for the hard worn and used items of WW2 as many of you here already know. In my opinion they better voice the horrors of war and after it which I as a conflict archaeologist find both worth researching and terrifying at the same time.

I use the items in my reference collection both artistic work with professional photographers, in school education, in exhibitions and when I lecture about WW2 conflict archaeology for students in archaeology at the University.

This grouping, said to have a connection with a German prisoner of War from a unit that was destroyed in the battle of Stalingrad caught my eye weeks ago. I am fully aware that the story might not be entirely accurate but thought you might be able to help me out with the ID disc.

As the POW dogtag is of the German "Stalag" type I was wondering wether it was worn by the German P.O.W during his captivity?

I saw that as well. A compelling grouping.

I have a set of documents to a Bautruppen soldier who was in the 6th Army.

Congrats on picking it up. Look forward to your observations and photos.

The ekm is to the 1st Kompanie of Brückenbau-Bataillon 522, a unit originally raised in Vienna in 1939 and erased in Stalingrad, nice addition.
