Very interesting story, and it will indeed make a great movie. ( I hate all
the re-hash/remakes being made these days ! ) The guards would
likely have shot him if they ever learned of his escapes while
he was in captivity.........

That is an outstanding story and example of what a little puntang will make you do!!!!!
It is a shame that he has passed. These Gent's were definatly a part of the Greatest Generation this world has seen!!!

Sorry, but I have real doubts about much of this.
The photo showing Himmler with the POW's is a well known one and actually shows him with a Soviet POW. Look at his cap and trousers. The pic was taken at a POW Camp in Minsk! Himmler's tour here is a well documented fact. A British POW would not have been at this camp.

I actually thought I had seen that image with himmler before, it is a still taken from a piece of movie film, I'm certain I have it in several documentaries that I have.
