Helmet Identification

Article about: Hi, I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if the helmets used in this photo are SSh-36 or Ssh-40. They are from soldiers on the Hanko Peninsula. Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

    Could be ssh39 or ssh40 they have cover camo helmet on them.

    My guess: SSh 39 or SSh 40 considering the dip. SSh 36's dip is lower than the later models. Use of the PPD submachinegun suggests a period early in the war. So Hanko could be correct.

    The fact it's likely to be earlier in the war might mean more of a lean towards the SSH39? But yes, definitely not the 36 model
