    Hi everyone,

I found this helmet for sale. It's in a very bad state but could be put back into the original shape. It's only worth the effort when it's original. I mailed the seller; who answered that he could not find factory markings due to the dirt and rust and didn't want to disturb it. Not even a marking on the aluminium linerband. On the other hand who would take a lot of energy and time to destroy a fake helmet. The pitting looks legit to me. And it looks like it was dug up by a
excavator. He also sells a half relic helmet M38 helmet. What do you think?

    Cheers Paul

Honestly, hard to give an opinion one way or the other. I would suspect it is fine.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Does rather raise the question; "How far gone to too far?"

If you are desperate to own an M38 this is pushing your obsession a little too far. They are relics and the half dug one is rotten and the other is what it is. If you attempted to straighten out the crushed shell then the item loses any provenance it ever had, no value is added.

    Hi everyone,

After a night of sleep and your sobering comments I'll let it pass.

    Cheers Paul
