Based on the pictures, I’d say it is a reproduction.
The shape of the helmet, the edge of the rolled rim and the camouflage paint all look like the typical m38 that pops up on eBay. It looks like someone has painted and then aged it, then used a chisel to make fake ware.
Nice to have on a shelf or to reenact, but not real in my opinion.
But wait to see what others say, because I don’t collect these, Ive only studied original examples on forums.
An acceptable weathering effect, done with washes, pastels and chalks and some dry brush work .... it would do any military modelers competition proud!!

A poor attempt to tart up what looks to me to be an aged repo shell. Even if the shell is real....the recent camo job ruins it all.
