I would like to ask you to help me identify my Luftwaffe M38 paratrooper helmet. He doesn't look like a fake. Is it original? Agree with John. A very amateur attempt. Those repetitive tools marks, lack of patina all stand out mile even before you look at the rest of the helmet.

From the shot taken from the rear, it looks like a cut down M42 due to the flare.
Thoughts?

The M42 was the standard production helmet from 1942 til the end of the war.
