Unknown WWII German Fallschirmjäger Helmet

I obtained this helmet from an estate some time ago, but have not been able to find anybody who has been able to ID it. It looks to have been cut out of an M35 or other German helmet, and had an early original chinstrap on it which I sold to a collector some time ago. The liner is unusual, as the band looks to be made of bakelite or some other fabric based material. Has been brush painted dark green over a lighter weird green color that looks to be it's original shade. I have not been able to locate any pictures of one like it online and would really like some info. Thanks for your help in advance!
