    Default Fallschirmschutzenabzeichen Assmann

I'm looking at this Fallschirmschutzenabzeichen attempting to identify it. It looks possibly like an assman unmarked eagle with a 1. Im guessing zink later production.

I am nervous it could be a steiner reproduction however I do not see the imperfection on the wing. The 1 is further up then what I find on the identification photos and there is no makers mark on the eagle. Because of this I am leaning towards later production unmarked assman but I would like your opinions. I have utilized the forum to get where I'm at. Let me know if further photos are needed.

    Thanks for any help

Hi Tim , IMO a good Assmann marked 1 ( type H in Durante's book ) with good finish . The 1 is in the right place but the eagle is a bit lower at that point . Please wait for more input .

Thanks Raz. About what year do you think it would have been produced.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

Durante states that the badges marked with 1 and 2 were produced starting in 43 thru 45 . Wreath should be 52.36mm tall , 42.08mm wide and weigh 22.1gr on the type H badge . Assmann had 6 different zink wreaths but used the same eagle design throughout the war . Hope this helps .

Sure does thanks. Height and weight spot on. Weight 21 but my scale ***** and only goes to gram. I need a new one.

    Thanks.
