Hello, it may be pre war based on Assman and Steinhauer & Luck catalog, and the single hole with the two solder points that reflect an earlier time and construction, JMO. I believe David North had mentioned this method of attachment was used on a certain type of HJ buckle.

    Thank you Gwar!
I know the Assmann catalogue, but sadly that is not on the buckle's back picture.
    What year was published that?

Alex, that I do not know other than pre war, yes unfortunately they did not add any more than needed, most likely Ben and perhaps David ( others ) will add more to this for you.

    Dear Gwar,

For some odd reason, I can no longer reply to a post with a quote.

One of your responses is quite interesting to include "...I believe David North had mentioned this method of attachment was used on a certain type of HJ buckle...".

Attached are images of a DJ buckle which has the Sig Rune attached in roughly the same form as that which started the thread. Of interest though is that you have shown an extract from a St. & L sales catalogue. The subject buckle appears also in earlier catalogues from this company and I have always been of the opinion that the massive, over engineered and clumsy split pin way of attaching an emblem to a box, was selectively employed by St. & L in the 1920"s and early 1930"s.

    Regards and best wishes,

    David
