Nobody has a small idea for help?
Hello,
I'm surprised that no one on the forum did not try his luck with this canister...296 viewers and no opinion ?
I handled a lot of camouflaged canisters in the past and as far as original examples are concerned, they almost all displayed the same kind of characteristic features from field use, but i can't see them here. The photos are not the best for sure, one showing the side is out of focus.
Could you post more detailed photos ?
Thanks

Good and bad feelings for me.
I like the "brittleness" of the paint appearance but i don't like what appears in places to be over painting rusted areas. This may well have been a well used canister painted in the last year of the war but it does make one doubt......

I'm not a fan of this...
Looks like there is some paint on top of rusting.
Here is a couple of pics of my camo can:
As you can see, there is some brush applied mustard yellow and brownish red paint on top of the factory green paint, but never on the rusted (where the paint chipped off) parts.
I agree, better pics needed.
Cheers,
Fabe
I do actually like it - that sort of patina is nigh on impossible to replicate
thank you John. Best regards of Phil of France (HJ drum...)
