Please look at the belts on this canister of 1936. At the snap, the short strap is a slightly different color than the other two. I'm interested in the question: were the main belt and the short one with a hook made before 1945 or after?

I think it belongs to the canister, the color change is normal. They agree with the model. Here in Spain we have many from the civil war, and they are like that. Greetings.
That certainly looks authentic to me. That's what they come up looking like when I Google them.
