    Not for any gasmask I know of. Gasmask canisters were made so they could easily be taken places, I see no attaching points for straps on this one -except the one part on the side which wouldnt balance it very well- and the lid looks like its pulled off, also a no-no for gasmask canisters.

    I don't recognize this at all. Not in ww2 items and personally I also don't recognize it in anything post-war that I've personally seen so you should wait for others to tell you what this is.

    Thank you, the picture comes from a Danish collector, he bought the canister as a WWII item, but let us see if someone knows it ?

    You should tell him that it's not a good idea to buy things as 'ww2 items' if he, in the first place, doesn't even know what it is.

    Sometimes one just gets a lot og stuff together, and once and a while there a pieces unknown to one :-)

    Does it have a bakelite canister inside, cant really determine from the pictures. Bakelite is a good insulator and has high heat resistance

    Perhaps its an early type of food container.....

    Yes it has a bakelite canister inside, it is also my guess it is an sort of food container
