Dunkelgelb was a standard color for Wehrmacht items - especially in the latter years of the war. You will find this paint color on numerous objects. Unless the item is marked as "Tropische" or some variant using that phrase, it may not have been used in a desert or tropical theater. NH
Thought that a red dot inside the triangle denoted tropical use and a blue triangle meant it was treated for winter use, there is nothing left inside the one shown so could be either, but for sure the dunkelgelb does not mean it was for tropics use.
I noticed they do not have "H-6400" under the serial number,
so probably never had the reticle-scale.........
