cover looks ok,the spade should be marked but as I can't see it don't know.
Don't buy it without seeing both sides of the actual spade...the Dutch produced a similar entrenching tool, btw...

Hi. Thank you for the information. On closer inspection the reverse side of the spade towards one side is stamped 'AGO'? Is that good or bad? Kind regards.
If the blade of the shovel folds to the point of touching the handle, it is not original WW II German. If it stops short of touching, it is original.

AGO is a valid maker and the shovel and carrier look good and all original. The carrier is a first pattern and hard to find in good shape. Looks like a keeper to me.
