I recently purchased these binoculars from an American veteran's grandson. While this model was used by the Austro-Hungarian military during WW1, this particular set has had a feldpost number and unit carved into the front "Feldpost 110 Infantry Regiment 9". Interestingly this feldpost number does not correspond, as far as I can tell, to any Infantry Regiment 9. Feldpost 100, however, corresponds to Regimentsstab Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 9, so I believe that may be the unit being referenced. The other side is named to "Hptm WasH". I am assuming Hptm is an abbreviation of Hauptmann, though unfortunately there is not enough information to determine his name. Overall a pretty neat piece.
