Gas mask case and filter

Hi guys!

I am not an expert on gas masks and this one fell into my lap this week. Its a case an only the filter of the mask.
Now I don't even know for sure if it is WW2 period??

Any opinions?

The container, behalter is wartime. The filter I'm fairly sure is postwar civilian and doesn't belong with it.

As stated, a wartime canister. Check the lid for the eye shields for date, manufacture code and Waffenamt. It is missing the shoulder strap, correct mask and filter, eye shields, cleaning cloth and retainer. Neil
