44 dated matching top and bottom. Does it come with the Essbesteck and strap? How much? The wear on it is typical of a well used Kochgeschir. Other than the missing bale wire I like it. NH

Seems like quite a lot of money for this particular piece. Unless this is some special variant I feel like this is overpriced.

That's too much money, friend...You can get a decent complete messkit that isn't missing the handle for around $45-upwards...
Just my opinion, but there's no way I'd pay $200 for that set-up...A better one will turn up if you give it time, as they aren't rare at all...
    cheers, Glenn

too much - I would go with $90-100 and still it is missing the handle.

Personally I would pass. As others have said these are not hard to find for less money and better condition. Speaking from experience, I am always happier when I wait for a nice example.

    Hello,
The price asked is prohibitive for such an item.
The paint has seen better days, the wire handle is missing and the strap is not WWII german.
This said, kvu marking is not often seen. As you may notice, both metal pieces meant to retain the wire handle are of the early molded type in aluminium and not the flat steel type used for aluminum messkit between 1943 and 1945. A few makers still used this molded type for the entire war, kvu was one of them.
If it had more paint and a wire handle, it would have been a good idea to negociate with the seller...
    Thanks
