German Military Lantern by F.F.A. Schulze Berlin

Here is the other Lantern I picked up. This one is maker marked to the back plate F.F.A. Schulze, Berlin. D.R.P. 395351 also stamped F.F.A. on bottom cup. This company is still in operation today. The DRP stands for 'Deutsches Reich Patent' meaning the lamp was made for either the Military or the Government. This pattern of lamp was issued to a wide variety of users including Reichsbahn, Wehrmacht, and Reichsmarine. This brass model design dates back to 1927 and was used into WWII. The locating clip / strut is embossed with an early waffenamt of 'WaA 124' and '43'. I was able to find a picture I added here as well of the box with all the colored glass shutters and other components. My opinion is that maybe these were predominately used by the Reichsmarine aboard ships. I thought I remember seeing a program where one of these was found along with other artifacts off a German ship near Lybia years ago. I am sure they were used as well by the Wehrmacht as well as the Reichsbahn.

Maybe someone else here has a better list and would be willing to share it.

You mentioned it's made of Brass, You know if its made of Brass it need's to shine!! Break out the Duraglit and get polishing!!!!!

36" on my list. I will email you the one I have to see if we are looking at same one Cheers DD. Removing Patina Now Sir....Yes Sir. Maybe not. No.
