All kidding aside - it is pretty chewed up. I'd say take a look at some offered on dealer sites and reduce it to reflect the damage. NH

Please note the forum is not a free appraisal service so please refrain from doing so. Neil has given you an excellent suggestion.

The strap is on backwards. The carbine hook should be in the back where the manufacturer name and date appears. NH

I'm not the only one who asked for price on this forum ........

and i'm not selling this and asked the opinion of how it would be realistic price for this and in this state .

A little bit of effort on my part (about 30 seconds) revealed a canteen in somewhat similar condition for sale at Ruptured Duck for $75. Searching for "German tropical canteen for sale" netted several results quite quickly. We avoid appraisal here and encourage members to do a bit of research on their own. But, it is a genuine Third Reich period item albeit in very used condition. You should adjust value based on these observations. NH

It is not wise to take on a moderator in this forum. We have a policy of not being an appraisal service. If you do not post again and state you understand our policy, you will be directed to the door of no return.

As said, we don't do valuations.

I do them for a living, so I don't do them here now.

As advised, have a look at dealers sites to get an idea.

    Cheers, Ade.
