Hello, you have on WRF many pictures of skulls in leather, never stamps. It was made at the beginning of the war.

Nice ammo pouch. Some idiot, post war has stamped a skull under the lid. Try and forget about that.

Agree.

Hope you got this for a good price and not for the extra embellishment. Nice original pouch with moronic addition.

Hello,
As already mentioned by other members, the skull stamps are bad...
and they put one skull in each compartment....some rich SS unit maybe...
More seriously, if both retaining pins on the exteriors are different from the one in the middle, that's because they used to retain both the closure strap and the belt loop, when the latter was buttoned and not riveted at the back. When Germany entered the economy of war in 1942, belt loops were modified, but some companies still used the same pins for some time before running out and starting using new pins that were shorter. Your ammo pouch is 1942 dated and was produced shortly after Germany entered the economy of war. Hope it helps...
Thanks
PS : IMO you can get rid of these stamps...

That particular stamp appears on eBay-level fakes all the time, most usually 1920's banknotes that have been embellished to increase their resale value. In reality, it just makes them worthless. It's a fantasy design that never saw use in the Third Reich period. Given that it isn't noticeable on these pouches unless you open the lid, I wouldn't expect it to hurt the value too much. They're nice original pouches, regardless of the idiotic addition.
Seen here on a tarted up feldpost letter...
