Ok, I was just curious to see if they were using the 'Spaten Man' logo at that time, many thanks for the reply, G

Yes, it is the famous Spatenmann.
On the earlier pieces Ideal usually stamped "H" for Heer and the year below the logo.
In fact Ideal also built the exact same model with same logo for early BGS I always deny such shovels to be on the safe side.
But in this case of an authentic find there was no doubt at all.

    Very nice carrier, congratulations
    Makers code and year...
I got mine a long time ago, as you can see, it needed repairs. It has makers code and WaA, no year...

    Hello,
jwa carriers are marked with the year of production.
In 1944, they simplified the year markings by stamping a 4 only.
This is what is shown by the red arrow, your example is 1944 dated.
I do own an example from the same maker and same year.

Nice eue/44 yellow carrier, congrats for this nice set...
I used to also own an eue/44 carrier in yellow cardboard, they're great, mine had light brown leather loops and straps.
    Thanks
