Late war Zeltbahn

I would be very grateful for your feedback as regards the late war Zeltbahn. The cammo pattern is not common, with brown, greenish and violet shade on the one side. You can see inset made of the Italian cammo patch and few steel buttons. The only marking is RBN number not clearly visible. It looks like it has never been impregnated - and that is my question: was it common to produce Zeltbahns at the end of war not impregnated? What was the purpose of such an item if no protection against the rain? Camouflage only?

Nice later war quarter harder to find at least I see love the rbn no late war quality detoriated good question why not waterproof. timothy
