MP38 u. MP40 Magazintaschen, clg 43

Howdy, friends! My pair of MP38/40 magazine pouches finally arrived! I've been searching for a long time for a good pair of these, and I've at last got them in hand. This is a nice, late war, tan canvas left-and-right pair marked "clg" (Ernst Melzig Lederwaren, in Liegnitz):










A little difficult to photograph, but you can see a piece of possibly leather or other ersatz material sewn into the bottom of each magazine cell:



The pencil marks are still present indicating where the pouch was to be stitched:




Nice, clear stamps on the belt loops:







Our ever-helpful Mod, JPhilip, informed me that these "clg" marked canvas Magazintaschen are one of the more common types to find in unissued condition. Should one of you be evaluating a similar pair of pouches, I hope that these photos will prove of some use.

Thank you, BC. I've hunted for some time for a nice matching set in leather, but they were always priced far higher than I was willing to pay, or they were tattered to pieces. I'm more than pleased with these though. They'll look great on my late-war PzG mannequin - pictures forthcoming.

Thanks, Tim! A pair of well matched MP40 magazine pouches was sort of my holy grail of field equipment, so this is a small milestone for my collection.

Yes I can see why. They are rare birds to begin with. Yours are in spectacular condition with very nice markings. I have only seen photos never actually handled these.

Congrats on your milestone. It is always wonderful when our hunt leads us to a trophy.
