The mysterious donation can / sammeldose / spendendose

Article about: Hello. This is one of my latest find. I have never seen this type of donation can before. The swastika is, as you can see, rounded. And the writing Pflicht ehre (duty - hounor) confuzes me.

    This is one of my latest find.
    I have never seen this type of donation can before.

    The swastika is, as you can see, rounded.

    And the writing Pflicht ehre (duty - hounor) confuzes me.

    Still, i think it looks like a period item.
    This is all the pictures i have at the moment.

    A friend of mine has a few early SA Party donation cans, no exact match, but very similar. Could be DJ or HJ as well. I like it.

    I would want to see much better close up photos of the paint. Based on what I can see, the paint looks quite fresh.

    Many of these cans were repurposed post war so not too uncommon for these to be repainted to look from the WW2 era. I have a completely different style can with non-standard hand painted graphics so took a bit for me to get comfortable with it being a period can.

    Might be best to reach out to Chrys for his views (user name "winterhilfswerk Book")

    Here is better pictures, it's repainted as you said.
    Why and by whom? I dont know.

    The lid have the same color, just the light that makes it looks different.

    My view is that it is a post war repaint

    I agree and also stated the similar evaluation on W.A.F., smooth top surface and the rough sides indicate a repaint, including the shoddy workmanship that is not indicative of TR quality.
