    Default Need Help Identifying Scope

I have had this scope for some years now and have had trouble Identifying it. The only markings I can find are C.P. Goerz Berlin with 4X underneath. There are no serial numbers or any other type of Identification on the scope. It has one leather eyepiece. I am having difficulty uploading pictures as well. Any info will help at this point.

Pics would help but your scope was made by CP Goerz of Berlin and the model name is Certar. Although Goerz scopes where used by the Germans in the Great War it is probably unlikely that yours was but not impossible, that yours would have been originally fitted to a Gewehr 98. With no numbers on the scope body engraved on it, I doubt it was a sniper scope it ussually has something along the lines of "Gew 9999 on it.
Welcome to the forum and I look forward to the pics to make proper ID.
