Bears original German WW2 Luftwaffe gray/blue paint with white stenciling that may be Norwegian postwar as we can make out what appears to be the word Oslo. Can is missing primary cap but retains the vent cap. Overall condition is very good with some dents, dings and scratches.
These field oil drum cans are exceptionally rare with only a few known embossed Luftwaffe eagle examples known to exist.

Yes. Sherlock. But that still does not answer my question. What does it mean.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Rajeee haven't you ever heard the expression "Don't shit in your own nest"? Because that is what you have just gone and done
Thanks guys…but someone told me that it means:-
5.44 – that the contents were made at 16 minutes to 6.00pm…earlier models showed as 17.44 apparently...it's a kind of use-by date
LE3 IIB – its contents were intended (hence the “IIB” = to be) for the 3rd engine ("E3") on a Luftwaffe plane...so almost certainly a Ju52
L – lubrication (so oil)
.....although it could be details of an Uber....quarter to six at a Leicester Post / Zip Code?
If you're seeking help, it's probably best not to mock the people you want it from...
B.B.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
