The straps look good with the late war offset for the Y Sraps.

I think the back strap has been replaced with a post war Austrian one. The sizing holes should be tear drops and not what is shown here.

If you check Tom's Y strap page and compare the back strap on his examples with the one shown here you should see the differences. MP44.nl - German Uniforms and Equipment - Y Belt

Thanks for the update, I should have been more descriptive in my comment!

In your example, below each hole there is a slit, which is something not seen on originals. So back to Tom's example and you will see there is no slit, there is just the tear drop. Here is a thread showing an example of Austrian Y Straps and note how the backstrap holes has the same characteristics as your example.

    WW2 German y straps original????

Not only the holes are the same but also note the stitching near the hook being square another trait of post war Austrain backstraps.

Ian thanks for the infomation, but you think that the rest of the Y strap is original?

    The rest looks fine mate.

Unfortunately the addition of a post war back strap to complete a set of Y straps is not uncommon. I myself have been caught in the past with a similar example so whenever a Y strap comes up for review it is the first thing I check.
