Hello,
The "SS in diamond" marking probably didn't exist = fake....An SS acceptance stamp always consists of two "Sig" runes in an octogon. Never in a diamond

I've never seen this on an ammo box , ever. So it was either a first, or just bad.
Guess I'll have to break the bad news to the collector now.

What to do with an original kasten without a handle?

An alu example, so may have been used by fallschirmjäger or aircrew, but the additional "runes" and the broken/lost handle have cut the value.
