    Hello,

Hope this is the right forum section for this question...if not I will move it.

I bought myself a Reversible winter parka (due to arrive),will post pictures later.

I'm looking for an original scarf, named "Oma's" scarf? Not sure how to call it,balaclava, collar?
The description says : Airtex made

I looked at replica ones but don't know what to look for,the difference with an original one.

Since they don't have stamps or other markings,is this an original one?

You pay alot more for an original one offcourse, compared to a replica one but I like to keep everything original (if possible...)

    Any advice would be welcome,

    Kind regards

They are called a "Toque" You might have better luck searching for an original one using the correct name.

I couldn't authenticate a genuine Third Reich item for sure I admit but I do know that these are something to be very careful with because many armies have used something similar. In the British Army it was known as a headover and sometimes cap comforter. The early ones were open ended like the German ones and later ones were closed at both ends and were turned half inside the other to wear. There was even a pattern that was knitted into a kind of helmet/balaclava shape (I might still have mine in a box somewhere) so there are a lot of different types around.
As Sarge says, this one appears to be a West German Bundeswehr item.

Good luck finding a TR one!
