Personalized, authentic & beautiful Austrian made IMCO trench lighter
Good day gentleman.
Would like to show You this Austrian made IMCO trench lighter from my collection. Probably was ordered and used by an officer, but could as well be an ordinary soldier, who had some spare money. For me it doesn't look to be field "upgraded". Lighter was bought in the region of Mogilev, Belarus, from a local citizen on a small train station, on the way back from metal deteckting in the forrests of Mogilev. Interesting fact that the 45 Infanterie Division ( austrian ), was allmost totally whiped out in that area.
Brief history-
This legendary company opened its doors in 1907 as a button factory in Austria, founded by Julius Meister. In 1918, their first trench lighters were made from spent artillery shells used in World War I. Now, they are prized by collectors around the world. Known for its wind resistant feature, these lighters became a popular product for the military, then for the smoker and the outdoorsman.
Hope You will like it.
Regards,
Peter
These lighters are getting faked much also.
The photos below depict the difference between the original Super Triplex that was made in Austria - first photo shows "TM REG. VIENNA AUSTRIA" which is an authentic Austrian made IMCO. The second photo says "COME OF VIENNA AUSTRIA", which is NOT an authentic Austrian IMCO.
Regards,
Peter
