Re: Real or Fake
Hi, and welcome to the froum!
The SS belt buckle is a poor fake. The pouches look good though.
I would like to see more of the belt please. But I am not liking what I see so far.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Real or Fake
Gah, that's disappointing. Thanks for the help guys. Sorry, Ade, that's all the pictures the guy really offered me. Is there anything that stands out in particular that would make it a fake just so I know for future reference.

Re: Real or Fake
The very white stitching is not a good sign and also the weave of the webbing.
I have shown a couple of good original web belts on the forum in the past. A search should bring them up.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Real or Fake
Hello,
For sure, new pics showing the belt only would be useful
Thanks

Re: Real or Fake
Yep my money on the belt having been made in India or Pakistan, the quality of the webbing is nowhere near that of the original shuttle loom stuff. Also how flexible is the belt again this is a good give away, genuine webbing wether it be British, German, or American is very tightly woven and therefore a lot stiffer than the cheap stuff from the above mentioned countries. As a lot of repro gear is made on modern looms which knit the webbing using needles, instead of a shuttle loom which locks off the weft and weave with much more force, as the shuttle passes from side to side as the belt is formed.
