Do you guys think I could track this soldier's history? Also, were these normally named like this? Thanks

Re: Short Gas Mask/ Cannister,named
Hi Dean,
you've got one lovely, named, matching set dude! Our friends specializing in Feldpost (I think Ade's one of them) could easily tell you if one of the numbers is Herr Filipp's Feldpost nummer....in this case his story could be traced!
thanks for sharing

Re: Short Gas Mask/ Cannister,named
Hi Dean, the number on the strap is his feldpost number:
10574
(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) 4. Kompanie Grenzwacht-Unterabschnitt II Grenzwacht-Abschnitt 98,
(2.1.1940-27.4.1940) gestrichen,
(28.4.1940-14.9.1940) Kommandant im Abschnitt Südholland,
(1.2.1941-11.7.1941) Kommandant der Seeverteidigung Südholland,
(1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 11.8.1943 Kommandant der Seeverteidigung Südholland,
Hafenüberwachungsstelle und Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Vlissingen,
(24.3.1944-6.11.1944) 15.4.1944 Kommandant der Seeverteidigung Südholland
und Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Vlissingen.
So you can see he was a member of the KM serving in Southern Holland.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Short Gas Mask/ Cannister,named
Hello,
It is a magnificent Kriegsmarine Gasmask set, congrats...
IMO it is worth to complete the set with an original carrying strap.
Thanks
