Hmmmm. I avoid SS stuff like the plague. This might be one of those ginned up items you see pop up. A similar pin is selling on line for about 12 Euros. I will let others who know more about SS items chime in but this is likely bogus. NH
thank you neil
i do not thik its possible to buy 555 grams of 935 silver for 12 euro
cheers
While I can navigate in Czechia, somewhat, I can navigate better in SS regalia enough to say that this is another of the daily fantasy items we see connected
with such odds and ends.
I would be happy if it were real, but I doubt it.
🤢
As said above, this is a known fantasy badge soldered to an old cigarette case.
Increasing the "value" of old cigarette cases, hip flasks, pocket watches etc. by adding Nazi (mostly SS) badges and/or engravings is a very common trick in the fakers' business.
It is safe to say that 99.99 % of such items encountered on auctions and dealer sites are bad.
Neil was referring to the pin. See, for example:
Reinhard Heydrich Sports Badge
^Indeed, I was referring to the fake badge. The case is something entirely different. I would say the value of the case has been harmed by tacking on a bogus pin. It would have been a nice piece simply as a vintage cigarette case. NH
