Default SS Kanister - Jerry Can

    Hello,

I acquired the photographed SS Kannister / Jerry Can below today. It is Sandrik marked. Sandrik was a Czech Company during WWII and the only maker to my knowledge. This one is in great shape and from what I can tell it looks to be the original paint. Hope you like.

    Points checked before my purchase:

    - Red enamel throat
    - Fully welded handle
    - Correct hole placement in lid latch
    - Round vent tube in the throat is essential for an original kannister.
    - No Daisy mark stamp on cap lid.
    - Font / Type on front of kannister is correct compared to the reproductions I have seen.

Sweet! These are great for a room display like yours! Congrats!

Looks like you've been using up all of your investing budget lately

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Thanks MAP,

Why Yes. It is pretty dry now other than 1 buckle I still have to get. This can, visor and that buckle might be the last pick ups for awhile. I got nothing else to take pictures of. Sold a few WWI and WWII Duplicates a few months back I had not much connection with to makes some room for some items on the want list. Wife says I am in principals office now for a bit. She said for every new piece that comes in 2 pieces have to go. Okay Sold 2 tinnies and picked up SS Kannister. All good? I am Banned to the war room. Which is where I work so all good.

Thanks History Man. Yep this one still had about a 1/4 cup of good old crude in it from the seller. I have a 1945 US Jerry Can for my Jeep and carry spare gas in it all the time.

Nice original example. Always good to see traces of the primer coat too...

SANDRIK is a Slovakian company, still operating today. The original machinery has unfortunately been used to create many of the fake examples of these SS marked cans.
