So What is the confusion/wonderment about those with SS keyed typewriters?
That is the same sort of silly comment as would be the same question with the subjekt being Luftwaffe flight badges. OR WW 2 German items in general!
Everyone collects that which is of interest to them. In my case the SS keyed typewriters are an interesting/unusual addition to my SS collection. I can say the same thing about my Luftwaffe hand cranked air raid siren being a part of my Luftwaffe collection or my pre war Walther HP being part of my P.38 collection.

Lighten up Sarge, as Colin Powell says: "there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. I fail to see how a question seeking information on a particular collecting focus can be 'silly'.
