Straight entrenching tool & press-stoff (?) cover, 43/44

Hello all,

Would appreciate comments on this e-tool and cover. They were bought separately so not matching in years. The e-tool is marked 'REX 1943' with a waffenamt stamp and code. The cover seems to be of 'press-stoff' material, multiple layers glued together and topped with what is either imitation leather or very cheap and thin pigskin. Cover is marked 'ERG 44' with a WaA code. Anything glaringly obvious with regards to authenticity that I'm missing?
