Hi gents, the first of my two Tornisters has arrived, this one looks complete apart from a repair on the inside and it seems the straps are mismatched. the other Tornister coming has no repairs but the straps are incomplete

It has a faint maker mark on the rear of the pack on the leather, from the pics I would say the Max Muller strap is the added strap

Another really interested find is this nail head impression in the leather. This what I believe to be a local unit mark, I say this because I had the same mark on this 1936 Weimar buckle by Assamann, I wonder is if at some point they were around the same unit

So if the pack is maybe from 1936 then maybe both straps are replacement ones? Food for thought!

Hello Ben,
Nice to see that the messkit pocket is still there
Two things : the belt hook is missing (as quite often) and both carrying straps are wrongly positioned.
They should be positioned the other way around...
Thanks

Thanks JP, I may put these straps on the other pack when it arrives

Will you have a complete Tornister when the second one arrives or are you still missing some straps ?
Interesting sort of unit mark, looks like the head of a flat head slotted screw.
Well, they used what they could get, after all
Nice Tornister by the way!
