Unknown optic ID

Greetings,

I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum. A friend has a German optic that was found amongst his late father's belongings, and I offered to help him try to figure out what it is. The following three pictures are all I have currently. The only information I've been able to come up with just from the Waffenamt (WaA 156) is that it might be for a Flak 8,8, but not exactly what it is. I attempted to translate what's on the tag in the box and came up with "square telescope" and some accessories. The telescope has a simple crosshair in it, if memory serves correctly. If anyone knows what this is, I would certainly appreciate the information. Thank you in advance.

Is there anything written on the outside of the box ?, to me looks to be some sort testing piece maybe for alinement

There isn't, the box is plain other than the tag pictured. That's kind of what I was thinking as well.
