Not posted this one before, one very used Artillerie Rucksack, dated 1940 on the harness fitting on the rear, I'm not able to decipher the maker or location. I can see the remains of the owners name inscribed at the bottom of this tab, but sadly it is not legible.

I'm not sure if the two canvas riemen are original or later additions although they have age. Inside the rucksack is separated by a fabric divider secured by a metal button. Your comments or commiserations are welcome.

Slightly out of focus (me, as well as the photo), but I think that might be an Augsburg maker.

    ..?.. Deutz, Augsburg.

I’ll have a quick check of my makers list.

P.S: Couldn’t find a Deutz, Augsburg on my (very incomplete) list, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is.

I had a similarly ratty artillery rucksack once... I guess they were perfect for post-war use!

    Hi Blackcat.
Equipment belt Hans Deuter Augsburg 1941 size 95 – fjm44
I usually find a match for a manufacturer if I combine a search with this Dealer's name.

Thank you for posting your pack and for your reply.
I don't have an "Artillery" example.
The shoulder straps look like some I have viewed online described as reused captured webbing, instead of leather.
Thanks for all your posts I've learned from on the forum.

Hi, interesting example, I would be interested in that one. Sent you a PM. Best regards Benedikt

The Mods may want to update the title of this thread as it has now been identified as being a Gebirgsjäger issued rucksack, thanks to research by Benedikt.

    Hi Blackcat.
Any chance of a link or an update for the forum?
I don't see the Gebirgsjager connection from your photos.
