Not German, but French issue, CM38.

Real, as these are not faked, but I do not collect French items so I have no idea of value....

I bought one of these on ebay a couple of years ago for about £30 in similar condition.

Actually I was just thinking that myself. Are we sure it is not Belgian issue?

They are simialr, but not the same.
