German gasmask canister original?

Hello guys. What do you think of this canister? never saw this colour. Also condition is pretty ok. Appreciate any answers. Radovan

Hi Radovan,

It’s an original M17 Ledermasken and looks fine. The colour is not an issue and is just a lighter variation of feldgrau. The flash of the camera might also have lightened the colour. Missing the straps unfortunately but a nice example with replacement lenses and named which always adds a little more character.

Yes, lots of different shades of WW1 feldgrau around and very nice collection you have there. What type of optics are those in the third photo? Looks like the brass has been inscribed with Verdun? All very nice pieces
