Finnish Model 15 Adrian Helmet

Thought I'd share a few helmets from my collection today.

This potentially started life as part of the order of helmets from France for the Russian Empire during WW1 and remained in Finland following the Civil Wars. This M15 has been repainted black likely for Finnish Civil Defence use during WW2 and has been relined with a triple pad, reindeer leather Finnish liner that has been directly rivetted to the shell and a new chinstrap added. From what I can find the work on M15 helmets and the Russian Sohlberg helmets for civil defence was done in the late 1920s to 1930s.

French helmets didn't exist in Finland before Freedom War.
Finland ordered them in 1919, 15.000 french helmets and painted them in green color. German horned helmets started arriving after 1922.

About liner. It's same as refurbished Sohlberg helmets, those unfinished helmets which were left at factory before 1918. They were later completed in 1920-22 period. These are light-green color, Russian paint is dark-green with canvas liner.
But after army chose German helmet and they started arrive, refubished Sohlbergs never see service by the army.
French helmet also saw service only 1919- early twenties period.

Interesting variant nonetheless.
